Gorgeous post, Tats! It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Northumberland but your writing makes me want to return very soon. I love the desolate nature of the landscape and that feeling that you’re the only person around. Very inspiring ✨
It's such a unique place isn't it? I can't wait to go back in the warmer months and see what it all looks like then. Where did you go last time you went?
Last time we were there we stayed near to Hexham but did lots and lots of walks across the area. My favourite was in Allendale where we barely saw a soul and it felt so remote and wild
Oh that's a great area! We had a gorgeous hike just south west of Hexham recently, and I love exploring around Hadrian's wall. Vindolanda in particular blew my mind!
Yes, we went to Vindolanda on the same trip and it was fabulous! There are so many brilliant walking trails. We did a reasonable stretch of the Tyne path which was lovely too. Ahhh you’re making me want to return!
About to head out for a cold and frosty walk in south London - not quite the same but this hoar frost is rare here!
I loved your post about your northern getaway. I don't think I'll be visiting Northumberland in the near future but I loved reading about it!
Really pleased that you enjoyed it, and you never know, maybe one day you will! At least I hope so, as you'll be welcomed with open arms 😊
Looks amazing! What a glorious time and great post as ever. Would like to go Cheviot goat spotting 🐐some time!
Thank you so much Angela, and me too! Wouldn't it be such a treat to spot them?
